This Tresca on 8th wedding is one for the books. Alexis and Austin’s love story will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. From their first date, to their engagement story, these two are living a fairytale. No kidding!

They first met through a mutual friend. It wasn’t until a year later that they reconnected through social media. They started chatting all hours of the day (and night) for days before they decided that they needed to meet in person again. Her hands were sweating and her heart was racing waiting for him to open his front door. When she saw that handsome guy smiling back at her, she thought she was in a fairytale.

“Silly me said HI! and leaned in for a kiss, mind you, I have not even walked in the door yet!! But hey, he kissed back! That just gives an example of how passionately in love we are with one another.” — said Alexis.

Their story continued for a little over a year of dating, creating memories, vacations, and adventures before Austin got down on one knee and proposed. Alexis and Austin planned a gorgeous Tresca on 8th wedding in Lynchburg, Virginia.

HOW DID AUSTIN PROPOSE?

He hired a photographer to hide in the woods to take pictures of it happening! He parked in the middle of the field, kind of close to the tree line where the photographer was hiding. He put on one of our favorite songs in the truck, put the windows down, and started dancing with me in the middle of the field. We have done that before, so I didn’t get suspicious. BUT, after  a minute of dancing, I noticed something moving in the woods and I was like…

“Austin! there is something in the woods, look!”

He pretended to look and said: “yeah, it’s a deer, don’t you see the tail?”

As I was glaring into the woods, he got down on one knee, and with tears in his eyes, he said “Alexis Kali Emily Chapman, will you marry me?”

I immediately started balling with happy tears, said YES, and kissed him!

WHAT WAS THE PROCESS LIKE PLANNING YOUR TRESCA ON 8TH WEDDING?

We planned our wedding in two months so some of it was a little stressful, but the whole process was a lot of fun, and the day turned out perfect! My favorite part of wedding planning was trying on dresses and planning the decorations!

HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE IN SEARCHING FOR THE PERFECT DRESS?

When it came time to try on dresses, I knew that I wanted something different and something that you don’t always see. I didn’t want the traditional type of wedding dress. Ashley Grace Bridal had been recommended to me by SO many other brides! It was the first place I went to try on dresses.

I picked an ivory-cream wedding dress that was form fitting to my body. When my stylist put the veil on me, my mom got teary-eyed. I started crying, and my stylist started crying too! I just had that this is the one feeling!

After the wedding, I wrote a review on Ashley Grace Bridal‘s Facebook page about how sweet and genuine the girls that work there are, and how they really care about the bride and finding that perfect dress! They make you feel like they are one of your bridesmaids. That’s how genuinely excited they are for you.

I’s a really special feeling to know that you are cared about, and they don’t care how long it takes for you to find the perfect dress. They are determined that you find exactly what you are in love with! I recommend them to EVERYONE I know! I would go there over, and over, and over again!

HOW DID YOU FEEL ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?

The morning of my wedding, I woke up with a calm feeling and so much excitement to see my handsome soon-to-be husband at the altar. I just couldn’t wait to say I DO and kiss him! It was impossible not to smile ear-to-ear all day long! I stayed very busy the entire morning getting ready, taking pictures, and spending time with my girls.

DID YOU INCORPORATE ANYTHING SPECIAL IN YOUR WEDDING THAT REFLECTS YOU AS A COUPLE?

My grandfather, Poppy, has always been a huge spiritual leader in our family. I thought it would be so special for Poppy to pray over our marriage before Austin and I said I DO at the altar. After I had my dress on, Austin was led to me by blindfold so he couldn’t see me. My eyes were closed while Austin held my hand and Poppy prayed over our marriage! It was so calming and special to have that quiet moment with them and God. I also could not imagine getting married without having my pastor from TRBC officiate our wedding. I was so blessed to have Pastor Johnathan Falwell officiate our wedding. He has known me since I was very little, so it felt special to have him there for such an important day!

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL MOMENTS THAT SPECIFICALLY STICK OUT IN YOUR MIND FROM YOUR WEDDING?

My dad’s speech was very emotional for Austin and I! My dad is not an emotional type at all, but the speech got to him. He said the sweetest things to us, and Austin and I could not stop crying the whole time he was talking.

We had a videographer for our wedding, so I wanted to have handwritten letters read on camera before we walked down the aisle. I read Austin’s letter to me on camera, and he read mine to him on camera as well. That was a very special moment because we were able to read a very intimate love letter before the biggest moment of our lives took place!
