You’re going to love today’s Glen at Glenburn Farms featured wedding ! Jacob and Lorren are the sweetest couple. They originally met in high school where they had Spanish class together. While they lost touch shortly after high school, they reconnected a few years later and have been together ever since.
THEIR STORY
Lorren went to the Wine and Garlic Festival in Amherst County with her parents. Jacob was working there during that time and saw her from afar! He didn’t want to introduce himself right away because he saw that her dad was there, but he sent her a message on Facebook to reconnect. Later that month they went on their first date! Almost a year later, they took a trip to Los Angeles, CA. They walked down Venice Beach and out onto the Pier, where he proposed.
We asked Lorren what the process of planning the wedding of her dreams was like. Here’s what she had to say!
PLANNING HER DREAM WEDDING AT GLEN AT GLENBURN FARMS
The wedding planning honestly was not bad at all… BUT that’s because my wonderful momma took care of everything! The only decision I made was the dress and the venue! She knew my style and followed my Pinterest board I’d been planning for years, so she took it all in her own hands! I’m blessed for sure!!
THE WEDDING DRESS
The dress! Oh boy, that was probably the hardest decision I ever had to make! We started at a local bridal salon where we found a few dresses I liked, but didn’t feel like THE ONE! Then we came to Ashley Grace Bridal and felt AT HOME! Each one of those ladies are amazing and truly want you to feel special and beautiful on your special day! Loveee them! My dress was perfect!
HOW DID YOU FEEL ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
I had so many emotions! I woke up excited, but by the time I got to the venue my anxiety was through the roof! Then my lovely groom showed up late, so I immediately began thinking the worst. I just kept saying “He isn’t going to show up!” Finally, he showed up and the tears started rolling! The most intense moment was seconds before walking down the aisle! I was so ready to marry the man of my dreams, but was so nervous! A little advice I can give for your wedding day – make sure your photographer takes a lot of pictures! You won’t remember a single moment as it is all a blur!!
DID YOU INCORPORATE ANYTHING SPECIAL IN YOUR WEDDING THAT REFLECTS YOU AS A COUPLE?
We had a moment before the wedding. Jacob and I did not see each other but we held hands around the wall. At this moment we had our parents and grandparents all stand around us and the preacher prayed for us. It was a very special moment! We also wrote our own vows. So incredible to hear the words come straight from his heart! But when I said the day was a blur, I really meant it. Jacob and I had to go back and read our vows again a few days later because we couldn’t remember what each other had said!
ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL MOMENTS THAT SPECIFICALLY STICK OUT IN YOUR MIND FROM YOUR WEDDING?
There are several special moments! One would be the father-daughter dance! I cried like a baby because my dad wouldn’t let me hear the song until it was time to dance! Another special moment to me was seeing Jacob’s face as I walked down the aisle! He was so cute and the tears were rolling!
