A beautiful wedding in Roanoke, Virginia
Today’s couple have known each other since they were kids. Kara actually admits that she had a crush on Jonathan when she was only seven! How incredibly sweet is that? 🙂 While they lost touch for several years, they got in contact again when they met for dinner with some of Kara’s friends almost a year ago. And as the saying goes, the rest was history.
Kara and Jonathan are huge board game fanatics, and since they started dating, they have purchased over thirty board games. So, it was only fitting for Jonathan to propose through a game. Clank was the perfect game to help Jonathan propose to Kara.

“My experience was pretty great. I came with an open mindset on what dresses I would try on, but with a budget. Ashley Grace Bridal was the second bridal shop I went to and I just fell in love with not only the dresses, but the experience. They truly make it a fun and personal experience!”
How did you feel on your wedding day?
“I loved my wedding. It was beautiful, and what made it so, was definitely my friends and family. Getting ready with my bridal party was so much fun. One of my bridesmaids got all the others to write me letters and put together photos of my engagement and the time leading up to the wedding. It was really sweet and special. I do recommend asking someone in your bridal party (that isn’t family) to get you a plate of food because even though I was surrounded by the food, I never got to touch any of it. “
Are there any special moments that specifically stick out in your mind from your wedding in Roanoke, Virginia?
“There were so many special moments at the wedding. My husband and I played the shoe game and it was a hoot, especially when you could pin point that we both were putting opposite answers. Also, a dear friend of mine, whom I have’t seen in years, was able to attend my wedding. That was super special.”
