From their first date at the bowling alley to their North Point Plantation wedding, this couple’s story is one for the books.

Travis proposed in Charleston, SC. He and Olivia love the city, so they spent the morning walking around historic downtown Charleston. After eating and visiting the local shops, they made a final stop at the White Point Garden, at the very tip of the peninsula, where Travis proposed in front of the beautiful green oak trees.

Isn’t that the sweetest proposal?! We’re so excited for them!

What was the process like planning your North Point Plantation wedding?

“Although, stressful and time consuming, I had so much fun planning our wedding. Planning your own wedding is no small task, but everything went smoothly on the day of and we could not have asked for a more perfect day. I would say, my favorite memories from the planning process were picking our flowers, choosing our wedding bands, my bridal shower/bachelorette, and wedding dress shopping.”

What was your experience like in searching for the perfect dress?

“I could not have asked for a better dress boutique than Ashley Grace. From the second I walked through those doors, I felt like a true bride. The girls at Ashley Grace are nothing short of wonderful. Patient, knowledgeable, and personable they all were. I will say, Lauren stood out to me the most. She is a sweetheart. She made my experience exceptional. I found my perfect dress with Ashley Grace and felt so beautiful in it on our wedding day.”

Did you incorporate anything special in your wedding that reflects you as a couple?

“My husband and I wrote our own vows. We both have a very strong relationship with the Lord, so we wanted to write our own vows and incorporate our faith in them. Travis and I wanted to emphasize the importance of having God at the center of our marriage and before anything else. We also had a gorgeous wood canvas with the scripture Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 written on it. In the middle of our ceremony, we went over to the canvas and tied three strands together to resemble how a cord of three strands is not easily broken, in reference to our relationship with God.

We did not do a first look. However, we did a prayer before the ceremony started. We both stood behind a door so we could not see one another and my husband prayed for our marriage. That is a moment I will never forget.

Finally, we had a violinist learn the song Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers to play while I walked down the aisle. This is my dad’s song for my mom who passed when I was 13. It was truly a beautifully, peaceful moment.”

What’s one piece of advice you would give a bride planning her wedding?

“For anyone who is debating whether or not to plan a wedding or elope…HAVE A WEDDING. Although it is a lot of work and money, the memories that come from it are lifelong and the happiness and joy you can not get anywhere else.”

Travis and Olivia, congratulations on your beautiful North Point Plantation wedding! We had a blast getting to know you and helping you pick the dress of your dreams!
