Dimitri and Brooke’s Bella Rose Plantation wedding in Lynchburg, Virginia was such a dream! The venue, the dress, their family and friends who were there to celebrate with them, it was all so special.
The couple fell in love with the beautiful Bella Rose Plantation as soon as they toured the venue. They knew right away that this was the venue of their dreams. The creek-side rotunda took their breath away and they couldn’t think of anything else that would be as magical as joining in a union under the radiant stained glass reminiscent of ancient cathedrals.
How They Met
My husband and I both grew up in Central Virginia and attended the same schools. After high school, we were both working part-time at a local restaurant while we continued our education. I always had my eye on Dimitri, but never thought we would be more than friends – but that wouldn’t stop me from making a move.
The holidays were approaching and it was the week of Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Dimitri, my brother Dylan, and I were working and I asked Dylan if he would go Black Friday shopping with me. Of course, he said no because… well, what brother wants to go shopping with his sister?!
Dimitri was standing beside us, and not thinking he would really say yes, I asked him. And surprisingly, he said yes. A couple days later we went Black Friday shopping and have been together ever since.
How He Proposed
It was Thanksgiving morning and we were getting ready to run the Turkey Trot. Dimitri was acting a little strange that morning and I knew something was up. He mentioned he had a song to play for me and at that moment I knew it was about to happen. He had written a song for me and he played the guitar while he sang to me. Once he finished, he led me to the Christmas tree as he said there was an early Christmas present under it for me. He then picked up the ring box and got down on one knee and proposed.
What Was the Most Special Memory from Your Bella Rose Plantation Wedding?
Our wedding day was the most magical day of my life, but our first-look no-peek was pretty special. We met outside the Bella Rose Mansion in front of a beautiful Magnolia tree, and while we stood back to back, Dimitri surprised me by playing his guitar and singing a song he had wrote for me for our wedding day.

Make your day what you want it to be as a couple, without the pressure of society and other’s expectations. Focus on what’s important to you both to ensure it’s a day filled with wonderful memories. This day was hands down the best day of our lives and the most perfect way to begin this next chapter of our lives together.
