Easy Bridal Poses for Your Wedding Day

Some of my favorite things to photograph on a wedding day are the bridal portraits. As soon as the bride gets in her dress, the emotions come rushing in. This is her day and her time to shine! I love nothing more than to guide her through natural poses that don’t feel stiff or awkward, but rather make her look as beautiful as she feels on this special day. Here are my favorite bridal poses!

Hair Behind Ear
One of my favorite poses is asking the bride to run her fingers through her hair while looking down. My brides always tell me that they don’t know what to do with their hands when they pose, and this is one of the easiest ways to ensure that your hands don’t look stiff in photos.

Hands on Waist
I love this pose so much because it helps accentuate your waist line which is really flattering in photos. Another pro photography tip is to always try and create triangles with your arms like you can see Liz doing in the example below. This makes your arms appear thinner in photos which is a win-win.

The Twirl
This pose usually helps shake off the nerves because you don’t have to think about whether or not you’re “posing the right way”. For this pose, all you have to do is pick up your dress with both hands and create left and right movements. For a variety of poses you can look at the camera, look down, or look away. How easy is that?!
