Today’s featured couple had a beautiful Old Pate Chapel wedding in Lynchburg, Virginia. But their story started in Raleigh, North Carolina. Logan introduced himself to Taylor at church one Sunday, and the next Sunday asked her on a date. And as they say, the rest is history!
The proposal story
“We went to Blacksburg, Virginia, where I went to college, to visit my two best friends. Little did I know he had been planning the proposal and engagement party for a couple of months. We were walking on Virginia Tech’s campus with my best friends, and we walked out onto a gazebo that overlooks a pond. My friends suddenly left Logan and I at the gazebo alone, so I knew something weird was happening. He pulled out a wooden photo album that he carved, which had pictures of us from all throughout our relationship. When I flipped the album over, there was a wooden carved sunflower attached to the back (my favorite flower). Logan slid the flower over, and the ring was in a hidden compartment in the back of the photo album! He pulled out the ring and got down on one knee with tears in his eyes. The best part though: I said yes!”
What was the process like planning the wedding of your dreams at Old Pate Chapel?
“It was like a part time job, and was honestly stressful at times, but it was completely worth it. My mom is the hero; she planned most of the wedding, she’s very gifted when it comes to planning events and decorating, so I’m beyond thankful for her! Planning together was also a good bonding experience for us.”
What was your experience like in searching for the perfect dress?
“I liked so many dresses, it was hard to choose! But when I tried on my dress at Ashley Grace, I didn’t want to take it off. It was just like the style of all of the dresses I pinned on my Pinterest board. And it was so comfortable… I’m not one for dressing up, so having something comfy was important to me.”
